Frequently Asked Questions

Which iPhones support scanning?

Any iPhone with a front-facing TrueDepth camera — iPhone X and later. The app requires iOS 16 or later.

How do I send a scan to the lab?

Tap the scan in the home list, then tap Share. Choose AirDrop to transfer directly to a nearby Mac, or use Files to save to iCloud Drive or email. The exported file is an OBJ mesh.

What is the OBJ file and what do I do with it?

OBJ (Wavefront OBJ) is an open standard 3D mesh format. The exported file opens directly in Meshmixer and other CAD tools used by the fabrication lab.

My scan has holes or gaps — what went wrong?

Gaps are usually caused by moving the phone too quickly or staying too far from the surface. Try re-scanning at 25–35 cm, moving slowly and overlapping each pass. If the speed warning appears during a scan, stop and hold still until it clears before continuing.

Does the app store patient data in the cloud?

No. All scans are stored locally in the app's private sandbox on your device. No data is transmitted over the internet. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I delete a scan?

Swipe left on any scan in the home list and tap Delete. Or use Edit mode to select and delete multiple scans at once. Deleted scans are permanently removed from the device.
